Personality: RJ is naturally a very laid back horse who would be very lazy and unresponsive if allowed. But Riata works faithfully with him, and it shows greatly. RJ is the type of horse you can always rely on, always trust. If you need to jump on a horse and go rope something you can rely on the loyal buckskin. Riata enjoys riding RJ bareback, and roping off of him. He has alot of cow in him and is fun to work cattle on. He's just the type of horse that is laid back and relaxed, a good ride for pleasure riding, or when you just want a good old loyal mount.
Brief History: RJ was born on the L7 Ranch, the ranch Riata was born and grew up on. Riata chose him for her own despite her brother's complaints- he was handsome from the get-go, and a favorite of all. As a weanling Riata halter broke him; he was easily gentled, his only main problem was looking at a person out of his left eye but that was easily overcome with dilligent work. At age 2 Riata started him under saddle, and he was an easy one. He occasionally will shy at random things like a fluttering paper bag, or a plastic cup, but has always been a good loyal mount.
