—The Horse— Name: Rev It Up Breed: American Quarter Horse Age: 3 years Gender: Gelding Height: 15.3 HH Mane/Tail Color: Black Eye Color: Brown Markings: None Other? (appearance wise): Rev is an overall very handsome gelding with admirable conformation. He is very well balanced, athletically muscled, with a clean, smooth blend where one body part meets another. Riata is very proud of him, with high hopes of him possibly becoming one of her best show horses yet. He is built for work, with plenty of eye appeal. Personality: Rev is one of those horses that improves your horsemanship, and diminishes your pride. When Riata began to halter break him she knew he would be a tough one, but he had a good mind on him and was one of the better looking horses she had ever personally owned. Rev is always on the alert, somewhat nervous, and tends to shy at even the most common of objects, which can get rather obnoxious. The gelding is very in-tune to his rider's movement, and with careful training, has come to pick up on the slightest wiggle; thus, if another attempts to ride him, they are often in for a bit of a shock when they realize his high, perhaps too much so, level of sensitivity. Riata is an accomplished horseman, but modest enough to admit that Rev can dump her just about any time he would like to. He has dusted her on several occasions. And advanced rider's horse, but well worth the effort. Only a three year old, he is already very well along as many of Riata's horses tend to be after a year of riding. Certainly not a horse for those timid in their riding decisions, and not for those who are proud. Riata strives to ride Rev 5 or 6 times out of the week; leave him be for little more than 5 or 6 days, and he will be as fresh as most horses would be after 2 months of pasture time. Brief History: Rev went through a neighboring town's sale as a weanling along with several others, from Idaho. He was purchased for only $725, by none other than Riata herself. She halter broke him soon afterwards, and found him much to her liking; a challenge, but one she was willing to accept and overcome. At the age of 2 she started him under saddle; she was dumped on the second ride.... And the fifth.... And the eighth... But she persisted, and with each ride became a better horseman. She has only roped the dummy off of him, and drug a few calves, but hopes that he may turn out to be a decent head horse. Other? (anything else you would like us to know?: None
