Roxy Matthews and Blitz
Roxy Matthews and Blitz
Roxy sat deep in the saddle and urged Blitz to move forward. The gelding shook his mane out before reluctantly picking up a right lead canter. Roxy managed to keep him going around the ring twice before allowing him to slow to a walk. Someone's lazy today. She chuckled as she reached down to stroke his shoulder. Blitz snorted as if he agreed.
Roxy sat up straight again and gazed around the ring. A course was set up in the middle of it, and Roxy planned on riding it in a few moments. The jumps were about four feet even. She knew with Blitz being rather lazy on her today, ti would be a bit of a challenge. Oh well, I need the practice. She thought to herself.
Roxy picked her reins up and urged Blitz forward again. She worked on a twenty meter circle, focusing on getting Blitz to move forward. When she felt she was ready, she turned towards the first jump.
I was a plain vertical, easy enough. As Blitz caught sight of the jump, his energy seemed to flow back. He moved forward, closing in on the jump. Roxy sat forward as they took off. Her hands slid up his neck as they soared over the jump. They landed on the other side and kept going.
Roxy turned to the next jump, a oxer. Again pretty easy. Their approach was faster now, since Blitz had seemed to woken up over the last jump. They flew over, with a good foot to spare.
Roxy turned to face the last jump she planned to do. It was a solid wall, a jump Blitz had issues with for a while. Roxy made sure her legs were firm, driving Blitz forward. He seemed to hesitate, but he kept moving forward. His jump wasn't as smooth as the others, but they cleared it.
Roxy slowed Blitz down to a walk and gazed around the course, planning another route to do.
